Red Pants Productions is excited to present The Butler - A Superhero Detective Story by Will Erskine in Hamilton Fringe 2019, as part of Fringe Kids!

Who cleans up the messes made by superheroes? Who is it who takes care of the day-to-day maintenance of the superheroes' lives? Who is it who has to solve a mystery that threatens to destroy the superheroes' base of operations and possibly the city? The Butler! Fortunately the audience can help, in this fun and fast-paced interactive mystery about the heroic deeds of those who work behind the scenes to keep things running smoothly.

We are casting the following roles:

The Butler

Seemingly 20-something, any gender, androgynous. An Energetic and enthusiastic but overly responsible robot butler. Happy to clean up the messes left by superheroes but seriously needs a break.

Matthew/Martha

Teenager in the "tour group" (the audience) who knows everything about superheroes. Probably should have something better to do than heckle The Butler. Still a pretty nice kid really, I guess.

Dinosaur Girl

20-something woman, genius inventor and kind of a goof. She is a very caring friend when she remembers to think of other people, whose powers have nothing to do with dinosaurs. She will probably try to make you stop acting so serious whether it is the smart thing to do or not.

Ms. Triumph

30-40-something, preferably a woman of colour, superhero with over three decades of experience. The goody-two-shoes leader of the team with a way more anarchic past than you would expect. Comfortable with chaos, always willing to help but stretches herself a little too thin because of this.

The Shade

30-something man, raised since birth to be a costumed crime-fighter like his parents. very clever but sometimes too single-minded and obsessive, to the point where he can miss important details. Kind of codependent but seems very confident.

Auditions will take place Wednesday May 1st and Thursday May 2nd from 7-9 PM at The Staircase Cafe Theatre. If you would like to book a time slot, please email adam.bryan@redpants.ca. Otherwise auditions will be seen on a first come first serve basis.
