Stand with Kesha event plans to raise money for survivors of abuse

March 29th, 2016 – HAMILTON – A lot of people have now heard the story of Kesha’s legal battles with her producer Dr. Luke.  Kesha is trying to end her contract with the producer that she claims to have emotionally and sexually abused her.  Celebrities like Adele, Kelly Clarkson, and Lady Gaga have voiced their support in some very public forums.  The #FreeKesha movement has gone viral with survivors speaking out with their support.  Now we’re looking to not only support and pay tribute to Kesha, but we want to support survivors in our community.

Stand with Kesha will take place on Friday May 6th at the Steel Lounge, located at 197 King William Street in Hamilton.  The night will consist of a variety of tribute performances, and will include some storytelling along with several musical performances.  The event is being organized by Red Pants Productions, a Hamilton based theatre and event management company that specializes in services for hire.  All the money raised from the event will go directly to SACHA and Halton Women’s Place.

This will be the third event by Red Pants Productions to raise money for SACHA, following “Adam Bryan’s Wrecked Cabaret”, which happened on the same night that Bryan Adams’ Reckless tour hit Hamilton, and the 2014 Hamilton Fringe Festival presentation of “Behind Closed Doors”, a musical about a dancer surviving sexual abuse.  Bryan says a couple excerpts from that musical are expected to be performed at the event.

The event will be pay what you can with a suggested $10 donation.  Tickets are available in advance by calling (647) 939-7337 or on, tickets will also be available at the door.  Interested performers can sign up by emailing
