Behind Closed Doors, the musical which made its debut in the Toronto Fringe Festival in 2014 has now released an official soundtrack! The soundtrack is now available on all major online music retailers and streaming services.
Coming to Hamilton on October 18th at for one night only, this one woman show is referred as a diary written out loud. Performed, written and directed by Alia Ettienne, YellowZoned is a day in the life of a woman in her early twenties. While battling with her anxiety disorder and attempting adulthood in a sanest and sometimes unforgiving world she touches on subjects such as being first generation, dating and being bare feet on the TTC.
Red Pants Productions is celebrating its one-year anniversary at its home of 27 King William Street and in celebration, has a full season of events to get you excited!
After a successful summer session, Contemporary Classes with Alyssa Nedich are resuming for another four-class, four-week session from September 12th-October 3rd at 9 PM at 27 King William Street. Also coming in September, Red Pants Productions will be hosting another fundraising event for another great cause. Our long-time supporter and friend Sarah “Snow” White has recently been diagnosed with stage 4 uterine cancer. She’s halfway through treatment and without a source of income, so we’re raising money to help combat her expenses! “Wigged Out – Help Sarah “Snow” White Kick Cancer’s Ass” will be a night filled with fun retro music, dancing, laughter, alongside pin-up models and zombies.
A minimum $5 donation guarantees you a free wig! This event will happen on Saturday, September 24th at the Staircase Café Theatre on 27 Dundurn St. North. Doors will open at 8 PM, with the show running from 9-11 PM.
For the first time ever, Red Pants Productions will be producing a show in collaboration with another company! YellowZoned by Alia Ettienne is an intriguing show that premiered in the 2016 Toronto Fringe Festival by You, Me, and Us Theatre to rave reviews. The show, described as a “diary read out loud” follows a young Afro Caribbean girl battling with her mental health, being a first generation Canadian, and even dirty feet on the TTC subway.
The show will be presented on Tuesday October 18th at the Staircase Café Theatre on 27 Dundurn St. North with doors opening at 7 PM, and the show running at 8 PM. Tickets will be $15 and can be purchased in advance online or at the door in cash.
Lastly, an event that has been years in the making! In June 2013, Red Pants Productions was formed to present a staged reading of its founder Adam Bryan’s musical “Behind Closed Doors”. Since then, the show has been performed in the Hamilton and Toronto Fringe Festival’s, the music has received glowing reviews, and the songs have been performed at several other events. Now, it’s time to give those songs a lasting home.
The Soundtrack to Your Life is part soundtrack release party, part birthday party, and part cabaret. Doors open at 7 PM and the show starts at 8 PM on Saturday, November 5th at the Staircase Café Theatre at 27 Dundurn St. North. The first half of the show will consist of the artists from the soundtrack performing the songs from start to finish, alongside a performance by dancer Alyssa Nedich. The second half? The artists will perform songs that have shaped their lives. Prizing will also be given away at the event including Beats Headphones, and a brand new unlocked smart phone! Tickets will be $10 for general admission, $18 with a digital copy of the Behind Closed Doors soundtrack, and $20 with a physical copy of the soundtrack.
